About the event
Unleashing the potential of wood
Wood has been used as a primary construction material across the world for over 10,000 years, with examples over 1,400 years old still inhabitable today.
This event looks to highlight the use of wood as a building material and its potential to reduce carbon emissions in both manufacturing and construction, improve sustainability through abundance, variety and renewability, and help reduce stress and improve well-being.
From its beautiful grain and design flexibility to its high-tensile strength and ability to nurture our instinctual connection with nature – both architecturally and structurally – wood is without equal.
Fresh perspectives, ideas and discussion
Fresh perspectives, ideas and discussion
Our first event took place at Dukes 92 in Manchester on 9 May 2019, with over 100 attendees from around Manchester in attendance. We offered a fresh outlook on the potential of wood as a building material and its ability to provide beautiful, renewable, innovative solutions for modern buildings.
Discussions looked at how wood and natural materials can play a central role in sustainable design, as well as offering insights into the benefits of using modern factory-finished wood windows and doors to deliver a high standard of built performance, durability and longevity.
Forthcoming event

Join thought leaders, industry experts and architects for our next event on “Building Nature into Architecture”. It will feature presentations by inspirational speakers, followed by a robust panel discussion and Q&A on how the industry can adapt its approach to sustainability, and using wood and other natural materials in their designs.
Tickets are free and all are welcome. Please follow us on social media for further details, coming soon.
